Empowerment System for Women

Group Project| 12 Weeks

TAVAN is an online platform for empowering women in underprivileged areas. In this system, job seekers register on the platform through the local NGOs and submit their proposal to start their own business. On the other hand, different investors also have the possibility to create a profile on the site and can donate capital to their desired person among different job seekers.

Problem Definition

Women’s employment opportunities are influenced by complex social and cultural factors. Afghan migrant women in Iran experience layered challenges at the intersection of gender and migration, limiting their access to sustainable livelihoods. This project focuses on understanding these challenges and designing solutions to improve their employment conditions.

Selected Scenario

One of the potentials of the Malek-Abad region is the presence of local philanthropists and community support. Based on this, one of the final ideas is to design a system based on donations from various investors to establish personal businesses. In this scenario, there is a platform where individuals with skills who wish to start their own businesses can register the amount of investment needed and the requested items. Local philanthropists then accept their requests. After purchasing the necessary equipment and the business becoming profitable, the entrepreneur repays the invested capital in installments to the investor. The investor can either donate it to someone else or reclaim it in full.
